Location/Site – Abbott Park/North Chicago
Work shift (days/times) – Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Our client is seeking candidates with experience working and maintaning analytical instrumentation in an R&D lab environment.

Job Description:
Experienced with lab settings for daily support of safety, lab organization and lab upkeep (receiving materials, waste management, etc.). Role requires support of multiple lab areas at multiple sites. Experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC and Karl Fischer. Instrumentation use for cleaning/maintenance as well as for R&D sample analysis will be expected for the role. Excellent organization, communication and documentation skills and ability to multitask.
• Support multiple analytical lab areas (GMP and R&D) with daily, weekly and monthly tasks including: waste management, glassware receipt and organization, safety checks (eye wash, labeling), receiving materials and reagents, etc.
• Support multiple analytical lab areas (GMP and R&D) with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks for analytical instrumentation including: HPLC cleaning, gas cylinder installation, etc.
• Communicate with other functions and teams for lab support tasks (glassware washing, EHS, stock room, equipment calibration, Analytical R&D 5S and Safety teams, etc.)
• Ensures timely support and communication across teams.
• Ensures safety requirements are met when performing tasks.
• Apply basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and instrument related systems.
• Execute assigned laboratory tasks utilizing standard procedures and technical understanding of various techniques (HPLC and Karl Fisher, min.) to complete assigned tasks.
• Independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner. Document the experimentation per requirements.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• BS/BA or Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineer, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Biology or related field with 0- 2 yrs lab experience (pharmaceutical industry preferred).
• Experienced use of analytical instruments including HPLC and KF and chromatography data systems (i.e., Empower).
• Strong communication, organization and documentation skills and familiarity of analytical lab areas and equipment.
What are the top 3-5 skills, experience or education required for this position:
Required Skill 1: Strong organization skills (5S awareness) and task oriented to support upkeep of multiple analytical lab areas
b. Required Skill 2: Experience working in lab (GMP and R&D) environments including EHS training and safety awareness
c. Required Skill 3: Good documentation (electronic notebooks) and communication skills to execute multiple tasks and work with other functions
d. Required Skill 4: Solid use of analytical instruments including HPLC/UHPLC and Karl Fisher
e. Required Skill 5: Hands-on analytical experience in an academic or industry lab
