Cell Biology Technician

Orion Group Life Sciences are currently recruiting a Cell Biology Technician on behalf of our Multinational Agrichemical Client based in Bracknell on an initial 6-Month contract with potential to extend.

Responsibilities:

• Executes routine laboratory tasks like: embryo rescue, tissue culture, microscopy, chemical handling, ploidy analysis., using established protocols, techniques and systems securing data quality, accuracy and appropriate storage. Actively participates in housekeeping activities. 
• Carries out non-routine tasks under supervision or guidance.
• Perform initial data analysis and generate simple reports and communication material to report back to the team.
• Proactively engage with specialists and team lead in case of issues and contribute to problem solving with own ideas and following agreed workplans.
• Independently organizes their own laboratory work outside of daily routine tasks.
• Maintains procedures, equipment and facilities, involved in the definition of guidelines and procedures of work area.
• Contributes to writing new Work Instructions and Risk Assessments and takes an active part in reviewing and updating the existing documents.
• Ensures compliance with HSE principles and standards including standards of ethical behaviour.

Skills/Education

• microscopy, aseptic technique, cell culture, chemical handling, tissue sample preparation
• attention to detail, flexibility to work under changing requirements, good verbal and written communication in English
• Advantageos: flow cytometry
• experience working in a scientific laboratory
