Camps Maintenance Superintendent
Location: Mozambique – Major LNG Onshore Facility
Rotation: 28/28
Duration: 12months+

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent – Camps to oversee maintenance operations across multiple permanent accommodation camps supporting a major LNG onshore facility in Mozambique.
The role provides day-to-day technical and contractual control of maintenance contractors, ensuring that all camp facilities and services are maintained safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements, service levels, KPIs and quality standards.
This is a field-based technical leadership role requiring strong hands-on knowledge of building services, facilities maintenance and remote camp operations.

Key Responsibilities

Contractor Control & Oversight
  • Exercise day-to-day technical and operational control over maintenance contractors across five permanent accommodation camps.
  • Verify compliance with contractual scope, procedures, manpower requirements and service-level commitments.
  • Monitor contractor performance and KPIs.
  • Raise and manage non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed.
Maintenance Quality & Performance
  • Approve and monitor preventive maintenance programmes.
  • Control reactive and corrective work orders through effective triage, prioritisation and resolution.
  • Conduct daily inspections, field checks and spot inspections.
  • Verify the quality of workmanship through physical inspection and testing rather than relying solely on contractor reports.
  • Reject substandard work and verify completion of corrective actions.
Technical Systems Oversight
Oversee maintenance activities covering:
  • Plumbing and water systems
  • HVAC and refrigeration
  • Electrical systems
  • Commercial kitchens and canteens
  • Fire and life-safety systems
  • Building fabric
  • Recreational and sports facilities
  • Diesel and gas power generation
  • Solar PV installations
Ensure equipment, systems and maintenance activities comply with applicable standards, certifications and project requirements.

HSE & Field Supervision
  • Enforce Permit to Work, Lockout/Tagout, hot work, working-at-height and confined-space requirements.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and support task risk assessments.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Promote safe working practices across all camp maintenance activities.
Reporting & Audit Support
  • Produce accurate daily and weekly maintenance reports.
  • Monitor outstanding work orders, performance and contractor compliance.
  • Provide supporting documentation and evidence for internal and external audits.
Requirements
  • 15+ years' experience in building services, facilities or camp maintenance.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience at Superintendent or Senior Supervisor level.
  • Technical diploma, HNC or recognised trade qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or Facilities Maintenance.
  • Extensive experience maintaining multiple remote accommodation camps concurrently, ideally five or more camps supporting several thousand occupants.
  • Strong technical knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems, with the ability to verify and demonstrate work in the field.
  • Proven experience maintaining commercial kitchens, canteens and recreational/sports facilities to audit and operational standards.
  • Strong understanding of fire and life-safety systems and power-generation equipment.
  • Experience with diesel/gas generators and solar PV systems is required.
  • Proven client-side experience supervising maintenance contractors under formal SLAs, KPIs and contractual regimes.
  • Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Maximo, SAP PM, Infor, Fiix or equivalent.
Certifications & HSE CompetenceThe following are desirable/required depending on discipline:
  • Electrical inspection, testing or authorisation qualifications.
  • Permit to Work.
  • Lockout/Tagout.
  • Working at Height.
  • Confined Space Entry.
  • First Aid.
  • Basic Firefighting.

  • Strong contractor-management and performance-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in English.
  • Portuguese language skills are an advantage.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities across multiple camps simultaneously.
