Buyer

Job Purpose
The Buyer is responsible for executing spot material purchases and managing purchase orders from issuance through to goods receipt. The role ensures compliance with delegated authority, procurement procedures, and timelines to meet internal material demand requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute spot material purchase orders in line with procurement KPIs and business objectives
• Manage and track purchase orders until successful goods receipt (GR)
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve requisition gaps and clarify requirements
• Expedite vendors and align with logistics providers to ensure on-time delivery
• Prepare and present reports on PO status, delivery risks, and mitigation actions
• Support procurement process improvements and procedural reviews
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, RFQ processes, and financial authority limits
• Analyze historical spend, demand trends, and supplier performance
• Support internal and external audits related to purchasing activities

Key Interfaces

• Internal: Department managers, end users, supply chain teams
• External: Vendors, suppliers, freight forwarders, logistics partners

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Commercial discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement or purchasing within the oil & gas industry
