The aim of the Business Solutions team is to provide a single point of contact for local, regional national and international employers in relation to their workforce development needs and enhance the student experience by brokering work related learning opportunities. This role provides an account management service for local and national businesses in relation to the College's activities, maximising opportunities for generating government funded and commercial income:

To work with business leaders and/or senior managers to gain an understanding of workforce development needs, business growth plans and business problems

To develop training, education and knowledge transfer solutions, maximising available funding opportunities

Update performance reports on a monthly basis, communicating key data to relevant managers (PDMs and SMT).

Work with employers and assessors to provide a recruitment and initial assessment service for Modern Apprenticeships

Contribute to the development and implementation of relevant processes and
procedures to ensure compliance with funding body requirements

Undertake negotiations with employers in relation to the costing of commercial
training solutions, support for curriculum (work experience, CPD, etc.)

Liaise with Managers and Assessors to support the development and
implementation of training, education, knowledge transfer and work
experience activities (including contributing to the course approvals process)

Identify opportunities for curriculum development and support the course
approval process, providing a clear business case and market intelligence

Maintain an understanding of contract profiles and eligibility criteria, ensuring
potential deviations from profiles (growth or shortfall) are communicated to the
Team Leader in a timely manner

Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the services provided to
stakeholders, implementing action plans/operational plans to ensure the
continuous improvement

Develop and maintain knowledge of specific sectors, regionally and nationally
in line with responsibilities outlined in the sector matrix

Contribute to the development of Sector Development plans, utilising LMI data
and industry intelligence

Maintain a knowledge of current and emerging skills needs and work across
college to support the development of new products and services

Provide support, advice and guidance to Business Solutions staff and
administrator(s).

Work as part of the UHI regional contracting group for Apprenticeships to
develop a unique range of value added apprenticeship delivery models

Work with the Marketing and Communications team to promote the
university's services to business

Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of regulations and
guidelines relating to government funding

Represent the University at relevant business related events and work related
learning networks

Build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholder organisations,
as identified on the Business Solutions Matrix

Support the development of operational plans and contribute to team
evaluation activities
