Scope

The Business Development Consultant will handle project proposals of varying scope and complexity involving the DJVMD portfolio of investments, valued above $100MM.

Works under the Division Manager's direction, toward predetermined long-term goals. Assignments are often self-initiated.

Principal Contacts

Internal: With other business development personnel to exchange information and receive/provide work direction. With staff in other client organizations such as Corp. Planning, Project Management, Finance, Treasurers, FPD, etc.

External: With representatives of the domestic refining JVs and outside companies engaged in new business development projects.

Principal Duties

The Business Development Consultant will:

  1. Participate in the business development process from screening through deal closure.

  1. Drive screening and validation activities to move growth proposals through the different stage gates.

  1. Prioritize growth proposals against investment criteria and client downstream strategy.

  1. Determine the scope and objectives of the projects, offering commercial and "technical" solutions that add value to client

  1. Coordinate with corporate SMEs (Law, Finance, Corporate Planning, Management Services, Engineering, etc.) to ensure projects progress.

  1. Work with internal organizations, refining domestic joint ventures and external investors to promote new growth opportunities.

  1. Conduct reviews of proposals and present briefs to senior Management.

  1. Ensure that proper documentation is maintained on all the development's work.
