Orion Group is hiring for an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) Associate to support the Aviation Maintenance team, reporting to the Director of Aviation Maintenance for our pharmaceutical client in North Chicago.
This is a paid three-month experiential program that will provide valuable experience by assisting with maintenance operations on corporate aircraft. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop skills in managing technical operations within a corporate flight department, ensuring our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards. Associates will gain exposure to different aspects, employees and business units of our corporation, as well as the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities
• Assist with performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft departure and recovery support, inspections, and engine runs in accordance with company standards and regulations.
• Gain proficiency in the use of onboard passenger service and cabin entertainment equipment.
• Assist in overseeing the documentation and quality of work performed by contract maintenance facilities.
• Engage with the department Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives.
• Support the management of spare parts inventory, including ordering and logistics.
• Completion of Capstone project.

Qualifications
We are seeking aviation maintenance students pursuing a certificate or degree in aviation maintenance (or related field) or 1-2 years of experience with the following:

  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA.
    • Strong willingness to learn and take initiative in troubleshooting technical issues.
    • Professional demeanor with a focus on excellent customer service skills.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• FAA Airframe or Powerplant rating completed before the start of the internship.
