Automation Engineer

We currently have an opportunity for an Automation Engineer role. This position is based in Qatar.


Minimum requirements

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Systems Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
 7 years of related experience in the assigned field of engineering and exposure to project management and contractor management.

• Knowledge of Instrument & Control/instrument engineering and industrial Instrument & Control.
  • Project Management.
  • Knowledge of the operations in petrochemical plants and of operations and products.
  • Health, Safety and Security Management skills.
  • Conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Inventory management skills.

 
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Responsible for the effective execution of Automation Engineer aspects of assigned projects/programs for all Instrument & Control systems in line with the defined plans and quality standards.
  • Work according to established company policies and procedures, industry norms and best practices using own initiative in a variety of ways to answer technical queries/resolve problems.
  • Determine work methods from alternative existing methods in accordance with established specialized policies and professional standards.
  • Responsible to lead a team of contractors to fulfil unit objectives in line with HSE and quality standards.
  • Completed work assignments are subject to review by the Principal Automation Engineer.
  • Works independently most of the time and/or as part of an integrated project, investigation, and review and/or audit team.
  • Plan, monitor and coordinate all Instrument & Control systems engineering design; review Instrument & Control scope of assigned projects ensuring the system architecture and configuration will meet project specifications.
  • Ensure projects’ Instrument & Control engineering activities are executed according to specification, within budget.
  • Carry out the technical reviews for all areas of work covered in Instrument & Control engineering projects while evaluating requests, recommending appropriate solutions, and proposing changes as necessary.
