Orion Group Life Sciences are looking for an Associate Director, Technology Transfer Execution for our Multinational Pharmaceutical client based in Boxmeer. Initial 12-month contract. Hybrid model, 75% onsite. Also open for 32 hours for the right candidate.
Purpose of the role
The Associate Director, Technology Transfer Execution is responsible for leading and coordinating Small Molecule drug product technology transfers across manufacturing sites.
The role manages a portfolio of strategic technology transfer projects and provides end-to-end oversight of transfer execution. The position ensures that transfers are completed on time, in compliance with regulatory requirements, and according to quality standards.
This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, manufacturing sites, contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), and global stakeholders. Some activities may be performed in a confidential environment.

Responsibilities of the role
- Technology Transfer Leadership:
- Lead and coordinate multiple Small Molecule technology transfer projects.
- Provide end-to-end oversight of site-to-site transfer execution (Blocks 3-6).
- Monitor project status, timelines, risks, and milestones through dashboards and reporting tools.
- Ensure successful execution of technology transfers while maintaining quality and compliance requirements.
- Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, PTS, and ATS teams.
- Coordinate activities between donor and receiving sites.
- Align stakeholders on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Facilitate communication and issue resolution across functions.
- Governance and Project Support:
- Develop and maintain project governance structures.
- Provide transfer methodologies, training, tools, and best practices.
- Coach project teams and transfer sponsors.
- Support transfer teams with problem solving and decision-making during project execution.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the main point of contact for manufacturing sites and global functions.
- Build strong relationships with site leaders and functional managers.
- Ensure transparent communication regarding project progress, risks, and challenges.
- Support strategic and operational alignment across organizations.
- Regulatory and Compliance Support:
- Coordinate regulatory submission packages related to technology transfers.
- Maintain close collaboration with Regulatory Affairs.
- Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
- Support process validation, qualification, and transfer documentation activities.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the development of company standards and best practices.
- Drive improvements in technology transfer methodologies.
- Collaborate with regional transfer teams to enhance processes and execution effectiveness.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Provide expertise and support in solving technical transfer issues.

- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in:
- Engineering
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Other relevant technical or scientific discipline
- More than 10 years of relevant experience in:
- Technology Transfer
- Product Development
- Manufacturing Operations
- Technical Operations
- Strong knowledge of Small Molecule pharmaceutical products, including:
- Liquids
- Ointments
- Creams
- Sterile Injectables
- Sterile Pastes
- Powder Filling
- Strong understanding of GMP requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Experience with:

- Project Management Experience:
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
