Associate Buyer / Requisition Specialist

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Associate Buyer / Requisition Specialist for a 6-month PAYE contract role based in Aberdeen with potential to extend. The role will form part of a busy and well established team. Due to the volume and criticality of requisition activity, they are looking for an experienced candidate to support the business effectively and safeguard the high service standards expected from the Procurement function. This will include accurate & timely processing of requisitions - ensuring all requisitions are reviewed, validated, and converted into service orders in line with business requirements and compliance standards. This would be well suited to someone who is early in their supply chain management career.
 
Overall purpose of job:
Provide requisitioning support for all business areas, ensuring an efficient and compliant procurement process.
This position is responsible for reviewing service requests pertaining to operations, maintenance, drilling, wells and overhead departments (for example, IT, HSE, HR). This position requires close collaboration with internal departments and external suppliers to facilitate timely and cost-effective procurement in compliance with company policies and procedures.
 
Key Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Receive and process service requests from internal departments, clarifying requirements and ensuring completeness,
  • Track the status of service requests and orders, proactively addressing any delays or issues,
  • Maintain accurate records of all service requests, requisitions and orders, supplier information and supplier qualifications,
  • Review new supplier submissions, complete necessary due diligence in accordance with company procedures,
  • Conduct monthly service order administration,
  • Provide business user training on systems and process as required.
  • Establish and maintain relationships within supply chain function, other key internal stakeholders in the business and external suppliers.
 
Experience and competencies required:
 
  • Proven experience in procurement, requisitioning within oil and gas industry (either Operator or Tier 1 contractor).
  • Detailed knowledge of procure-to-pay (P2P) processes and procurement / requisitioning tools (SAP, e-procurement systems, Nintex and MS office applications).
  • Working and proactively engaging with internal business users at all levels in the organisation – operations, maintenance, drilling, wells etc.
  • Significant experience in supply chain role, preferably in procurement (requisitioning or buying).
  • Hold and / or working towards relevant CIPS qualifications (preferrable but not essential if have sufficient experience).
  • Competence in use of MS office applications, with detailed knowledge of SAP and e-procurement systems.
  • Strong organisation skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with high volume of activity and changing priorities to align with the needs of a dynamic business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Willing to solve problems and deliver solutions in a timely manner. Ability to deliver business user training in face to face environment or over Teams.
  • Detail orientated with strong literacy and numeracy skills, commercially and financially aware.
