The Opportunity

Great opportunity for a commercially minded Asset Manager with deep operational knowledge of utility-scale wind assets and a strong financial and analytical skillset, to work for a growing, utility-scale renewable energy Operator. 

This is a permanent staff role, and can be based remotely in the US, with travel as and when necessary to visit sites & attend meetings across multiple states.

This individual will be responsible for maximizing asset value, ensuring performance targets are achieved, and driving operational and financial optimization across a portfolio of operating wind projects. The successful candidate will act as the commercial owner of the assets, working cross-functionally with operations, finance, trading, engineering, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day asset management activities for a portfolio of utility-scale wind assets
  • Own overall asset performance, including availability, generation, revenue, EBITDA, and budget delivery
  • Monitor operational KPIs and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and profitability
  • Drive financial optimization initiatives and ensure assets meet or exceed investment targets
  • Manage operating budgets, forecasting, variance analysis, and long-term business planning
  • Oversee contractual obligations including:
    • O&M agreements
    • TSA agreements
    • PPAs
    • Interconnection agreements
    • Landowner and stakeholder arrangements
  • Coordinate closely with operations and technical teams to resolve performance issues and reduce downtime
  • Analyze market exposure, curtailment, pricing impacts, and revenue optimization opportunities
  • Support lender, investor, and internal reporting requirements
  • Lead cross-functional discussions around major maintenance events, capex planning, and lifecycle strategies
  • Build strong relationships with counterparties, operators, ISOs/RTOs, consultants, and external partners
  • Support integration and optimization efforts related to newly acquired wind assets
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in renewable energy asset management, with significant exposure to utility-scale wind assets
  • Strong understanding of wind operations, performance metrics, and asset optimization strategies
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial performance analysis
  • Experience working within North American power markets (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, CAISO, etc.)
  • Knowledge of renewable project agreements and commercial structures
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Preferred Experience
  • Experience integrating acquired renewable assets into a broader operating platform
  • Exposure to merchant power markets and hedging structures
  • Familiarity with SCADA, performance analytics, and renewable asset reporting tools
  • MBA, CFA, or advanced technical qualification is advantageous
