THE OPPORTUNITY – ASSET INTEGRITY LEAD (OFFSHORE)
 
The Asset Integrity Lead is responsible for ensuring the ongoing fitness for service, compliance, and risk management of asset infrastructure across onshore and offshore operations. The role provides leadership and governance of asset integrity processes, ensuring that inspection, maintenance, and integrity programmes are effectively planned, executed, and continuously improved in line with regulatory and company requirements.
 
The position is accountable for the development and delivery of risk-based inspection (RBI) programmes, ensuring that asset condition is understood, risks are identified and mitigated, and safety-critical equipment is maintained to prevent loss of containment. The role ensures integrity data is accurate, managed effectively, and integrated into wider business systems to support informed decision-making.
 
The Asset Integrity Lead plays a key role in aligning integrity activities with planning and operational priorities, ensuring that integrity risks are visible and managed within asset plans. The role is also accountable for integrity budgets, contractor performance, and driving cost-effective delivery through innovation and continuous improvement.
 
Through strong leadership, technical assurance, and stakeholder engagement, the Asset Integrity Lead ensures safe, compliant, and reliable operation of the asset throughout its lifecycle. The role is also responsible for providing ad hoc emerging cover for the counterpart location as/when required to strengthen organisational resilience.

Spirit Energy currently have a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers. 4 days must be worked in the office with compulsory days being Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The fourth day worked in-office (either Monday or Friday) is of the worker’s choosing but should be in keeping with what is most efficient and effective for their team. The office is open 5 days a week for full time, in-office working if this is the contractor’s preference.  
 
 
AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT…
In role, you will be required to:
 
Asset Integrity & Fitness for Service
Ensure asset infrastructure remains fit for service and compliant with regulatory and company standards. Maintain integrity of static equipment and structures. Prevent loss of containment.
 
RBI & Inspection Programme Delivery
Develop and manage Risk Based Inspection (RBI) programmes. Ensure timely execution of inspection activities and integrity reviews. Drive risk-based prioritisation of work.
 
Integrity Data & Systems Management
Ensure integrity data is accurate, complete, and managed within company systems. Integrate data across business systems (e.g. barrier models, risk registers). Support data-driven decision making.
 
Safety Critical Equipment (SECE) Assurance
Ensure compliance with SECE performance standards. Manage integrity backlog and deferrals in line with risk. Maintain visibility and control of barrier health.
 
Planning & Integration
Integrate integrity activities into asset planning processes (28D, 3M, 8Q). Ensure alignment with operations, maintenance, and project priorities. Support execution readiness.
 
Budget & Cost Management
Define and manage asset integrity budgets. Monitor performance against plan and forecast. Identify opportunities to optimise cost and improve efficiency.
 
Contractor & Vendor Management
Manage inspection and integrity service contracts. Monitor contractor performance and delivery. Ensure value, quality, and compliance with standards.
 
Regulatory Compliance & Assurance
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation (e.g. PSSR, COMAH). Interface with regulators and support audits. Maintain assurance of integrity management systems.
 
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
Identify, assess, and mitigate integrity risks. Drive continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies (e.g. NII). Promote best practice and innovation.
 
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Lead integrity engineers and contractor teams. Engage with asset leadership, operations, and technical functions. Provide clear visibility of asset integrity status and risks.
 
Act as a Lead investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques to support business requirements.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
 
  • Strong knowledge of asset integrity management in high-hazard industries
  • Expertise in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies and degradation mechanisms
  • Experience with inspection techniques (e.g. NDT, NII) and fitness-for-service assessments
  • Understanding of integrity data systems and maintenance systems (e.g. SAP, IDMS)
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. PSSR, COMAH, Safety Case)
  • Experience in contractor and budget management
  • Degree in Engineering or related discipline (preferred)
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (desirable)
  • Significant experience in asset integrity, inspection, or engineering roles
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. API, ASME, NDT/NII)
    • ASME Level 1 and 2 Plant Inspector
    • API 579 Fitness for Service
    • API 510 /570 Piping and Vessel Inspector
    • G-103 Non-Invasive Inspection Recommended Practice
