Contract Type: 12-month renewable contract
Day Rate: Competitive (USD NET)
The Role
An international operator is seeking an experienced Area Manager (Underground Pipelines & Utilities) to take responsibility for a major onshore oil & gas development in Mozambique. This is a senior site-based leadership position, reporting on a 28/28 rotation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering construction activities safely, to the required quality, and within schedule, while providing oversight of EPC contractors and managing a multi-discipline site team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering construction activities safely, to the required quality, and within schedule, while providing oversight of EPC contractors and managing a multi-discipline site team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all site construction within the Underground Pipelines & Utilities scope.
- Provide assurance and oversight of EPC contractor performance.
- Champion HSE standards and participate in site emergency management.
- Manage multi-discipline teams and interface with stakeholders across construction, commissioning, and operations.
- Support handover to pre-commissioning/commissioning teams.
- Identify schedule risks, review progress, and propose corrective measures.
- Degree in Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
- 15+ years’ construction experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or related sectors.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership/management position.
- Proven background in greenfield mega-projects (LNG, GTL, gas processing or refinery experience highly advantageous).
- Strong HSE leadership track record.
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages beneficial.
