Archives Records Specialist I
Location: Worcester, MA – (100% Onsite)
Contract Length: 12 months Schedule: Monday–Friday, normal business hours
Pay Rate: $21–$25/hour (based on benefit selection)
Interview Process: On-site interview followed by virtual interview
 
Position SummaryThe Archives Records Specialist I supports records management operations by organizing, inventorying, and preparing physical documents for migration into a digital records system and off-site storage. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in both office and warehouse environments while adhering to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately track and report daily work progress for management metrics and status reporting
  • Sort, organize, and inventory physical records
  • Collect and enter metadata into Excel RMA sheets in preparation for migration into RIMS
  • Box records and prepare shipments for off-site storage vendors
  • Utilize records archiving systems (RIMS) as directed
  • Ensure all activities comply with records management requirements and SOPs
  • Maintain accuracy and productivity across all assigned tasks
  • Follow safety guidelines in office and warehouse settings
  • Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and quality workmanship
 
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (college coursework preferred)
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in typing and organizational tasks
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Clerical experience (sorting, collating, filing)
  • Ability to lift containers up to 25 pounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
 
Preferred Experience
  • Records management or archive/library experience
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or other regulated industries
  • Familiarity with document or records management systems (RIMS or equivalent)
 
Additional Information
  • Role is fully onsite (no remote/hybrid option)
  • Compliance training (CCT) required per work order
  • Must be comfortable working with physical records in warehouse-style environments
