Applications Engineer (Dust Collection Solutions)
Location: Lenexa, Kansas - Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 remote)

The Role
As an Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in the sales process, developing engineered to order system solutions from initial concept through proposal. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management teams to deliver technically sound, commercially competitive solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
This position operates on a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office and two days remote. The environment is fast paced and deadline driven, requiring the ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities while working within a collaborative, cross functional team.

The Role
As an Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in the sales process, developing engineered to order system solutions from initial concept through proposal. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management teams to deliver technically sound, commercially competitive solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead application engineering efforts for custom, large scale system solutions
- Analyze customer specifications, process data, and operating conditions to develop optimized designs
- Perform system sizing calculations such as airflow, filtration requirements, and equipment selection
- Prepare detailed budgetary and formal proposals, including technical scope, assumptions, and cost estimates
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management to ensure seamless project handoff
- Coordinate with suppliers to validate technical selections, pricing, and lead times
- Support customer interactions, technical presentations, and solution discussions
- Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities within proposed solutions and recommend improvements
- Maintain up to date knowledge of air pollution control technologies and industry trends
- Ensure solutions align with both customer requirements and business profitability targets
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Chemical
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in application engineering or technical solutions within industrial systems
- Experience with system sizing and design, particularly within airflow, filtration, or similar process systems
- Background working with engineered to order or custom solutions
- Strong understanding of airflow systems and related industrial processes
- Proven ability to collaborate across sales, engineering, and project teams
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Experience with proposal development, cost estimation, and technical documentation
