Analyzer Inspector supporting the project during construction and pre-commissioning of various analyzer/Quality Measuring Instrumentation (QMI). Work in close collaboration with the team to provide technical support and assist with installation and pre-commissioning of QMIs. Responsible for validating that the construction work in the field matches the approved Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation, and that any proposed deviation is escalated for review/approval as a Field Change Request (FCR). The Analyzer Inspector must have proven technical, communications, & team leader skills. Experience in working with major capital projects is a definite plus.

Position description - Accountabilities

  • Knowledge of the following global work processes and inspector's role in each: MOC, TA, IPF, ESP, HEMP/PHA.
  • Provide effective leadership and support for Construction & Pre-Commissioning activities including overview of construction contractor QA/QC activities (documentation, calibration, installation, loop check, as-built process).
  • Interact closely with Asset, construction, EPC companies on the project, and project personnel.
  • In-Depth knowledge of the various analyzer systems, procedures and regulations as well as DEPs including installation, electrical wiring/grounding, IPF, F&G, HART/AMS, etc.
  • Possess analyzer and sample conditioning calculation skills lag-time, dewpoint, etc.
  • Adept at field troubleshooting various analyzer and sample conditioning systems and associated components.
  • Validating correct asset tags e.g. analyzers, sample lines, etc are installed in the correct locations.
  • Provide technical and quality control review of all QMI construction activities and escalating issues through the Sr. Analyzer Engineer.
  • Maintain and identify redline updates of critical documentation (spec sheets, loop drawings, P&IDs, C&Es, narratives, etc.).

Experience and Qualifications required:

  • Formal QMI training and/or relevant experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, project construction or technical support environment.
  • Experience with Emerson DeltaV preferred.
  • Experience with 3rd party systems e.g. AMADAS, Siemens GCP preferred.
  • Vast experience in various technologies (Gas Chromatography, Tunable Diode Laser, TOC, water chemistry, Fire and Gas systems)
  • Knowledge of corporate policies and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to cope with a variety of issues and situations.
  • Displays Leadership Attributes for Individual Performers with demonstration of self-directing and results oriented attitude. This person must have the ability to handle multiple tasks with competing priorities.

  • Good communication skills (Oral/Written).
