Questions:
Is SAP S4Hana required?
    • Not required, primarily used in traditional finance roles.
    • Concur would be helpful for expense reporting
    • They have other systems in addition to CTE (concur travel and expense), that are specific to financial compliance where they update data, but they are not widely known so it would be new to them. Training provided.
Other than analytical skills, what soft skills would stand out to you?
    • If they have experience with expense reports, and financial compliance would be helpful.
    • CTE, concur system experience would be helpful, since the bulk of this role is looking at food transactions, and speaker program system reports related to HCP.- NOT required
Education Requirement?
    • Bachelors for sure, and at least 2-3 yrs experience would be helpful
    • Not a hard requirement of years of exp.
Pharma bg required?
    • Industry doesn’t matter, or how large.
    • Experience with large sets of data using excel is more  helpful
Most common data sets daily?
    • They get reports from lots of different sources, a daily report from their CTE team that has an auditing group that sends files every day of expense reports where the person has gone over the amount allowed on their meals.
    • Monthly reports
    • New system that the speaker program team uses called Veeva that contains all programs that took place in that month or quarter.
    • Usually reports come in excel format to filter out what you need to look at.
    • Reports vary in size due to time frame and area
Investigation process for flagged expenses:
    • Example meal over guideline:
Go into CTE pull up expense report, confirm if they are over – how many attendees do they have, then reach out to the rep with a standard template email which request reasoning why. Depending on what their answer is they will receive a compliance observation that complies with the dept, and correct the data if it hasn’t been paid yet, or if it is a report that has already been paid then they use a different system. Few different course of actions when you first get the report and information.
1st step is the same but depends on their response, how quickly they reply… etc. there is a process to follow.
What are the key deliverables expected in first 60-90 days:
    • This is a lot to learn, so overall would expect someone to pick it up and ask any questions that come up
    • Be able to answer most questions on their own, they see a lot of the same things which should be able to pick it up
    • The one-off things they would not expect them to just know, since some things can change as well.
    • Recognize trends and speak up if something doesn’t look right (like why someone would expense something a certain way…. Etc
    • This isn’t a traditional finance role; this is a specialized area since they do a lot of different things
