Accountant - EXPAT

We have a current opportunity for an EXPAT Senior Accountant on a long term contract basis on a 28/28 rotation.

This is to work for a major western energy business on a mature brownfield onshore gas producing asset.

This is likely to start in Q1 2026 and last several years in duration. 

 
Key purpose –
·      Prepares OPEX, G&A & CAPEX reports for managers and develops new ones (Budget analysis)
·      Monthly Variance and Forecasting
·      Year End, quarter end and month end duties
·      Participates in internal and external audits
·      Maintain audit recommendation implementation logs and periodic status presentations
·      Linking Field AFE’s to budget cost centres lines (monthly)
·      Implementing new projects to streamline budget reports to partners
·      Identifying areas for automations within Budget and Other Finance Departments
·      Analysing time-writing reports
·      Ad Hoc projects
 
Requirements (Education required, background, experience, skills)
 
·      Must hold a relevant degree (Finance, Accountancy, Business or a very closely related discipline)
·      Must be at least part qualified accountant – ideally fully qualified
·      Must have at least 10 years of relevant experience including a minimum of 5 years of relevant tax and or accounting experience, preferably with familiarity with existing Algerian (or similar, such as French) regulations and IFRS
·      Prior Upstream oil and gas working experience with firm Joint Interest Billing and cash call understanding
·      Prior knowledge and use of SAP FI, CO and JVA module preferred
·      English language skills are essential, knowledge of French and/or Arabic is a plus.
·      Good knowledge and prior experience of using Essbase and Oracle Financials
·      Understanding of US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act & UK Bribery Act is a plus (not essential).
·      Must have experience of dealing with highly confidential data
