Orion Group are currently recruiting for Auhtorized Persons at the start of June.
Ideal candidate will have previous Orsted Authorisation, need to hold a valid Siemens 8VM1 Switchgear certificate.
The APs will need to provide previous switching and Safety Documentation as evidence for the panel.
 
Role Overview:
 
The Subcontractor shall carry out servicing, inspection, functional test and cleaning of HV electrical interface (HV switchgear, HV transformer, HV cables and connectors) in Wind turbines including service reports and oil sample extraction, where applicable, according to the OEM instructions. The service is performed after client service checklists in reference to the service manual & procedures, and subcontractor’s method statements, risk assessments and work instructions. Method statements and risk assessments shall be supplied by Subcontractor to site management before the execution of the works according to client instructions Performs and ensures safety during work within areas of the turbine, as well as performs switching of NXPlus C Switchgear if authorized by client HV Nomination Board and operational responsible. Perform switching on live high voltage systems, cabling, connecting and testing on live low voltage supply and signal interfaces between WTG controller and high voltage equipment.
Tasks including but not limited to:
  • High Voltage equipment inspection which includes switchgear and transformer unit, from power unit to switchgear including external checks.
  • Inspection, test and troubleshooting on all connections to high voltage equipment.
  • Reporting (check lists and work orders).
  • Perform switching operations under switching schedules, if authorized
  • Ensure that work is conducted according to the defined workflow and work instructions
  • Ensure that all training certificates, tools and PPE are within expiry date
  • If applicable, general troubleshooting of switchgear and transformer unit components, if trained and approved by the supplier
  • Provide feedback to the Shift Lead / Site Manager where relevant, on deviation on components, documentation (RA, ZWI’s, EIP’s etc.), workflow, and non-conformance
  • Ensure that a formal handover is carried out between shifts (verbally), and between rotations (written).
  • Mentor and share knowledge within area of responsibility.
  • Keep record in terms of filling in checklists and report any turbine related issues upwards as required by company policy.
  • Maintain and follow safety procedures as required by company policy.
