Orion Group Life Sciences is looking for a Seed Shipment Specialist for our client in Enkhuizen, a leading agricultural company. This is an initial 6-month contract, with high possibility of extension. First 6 months are fully onsite.

Purpose

  • To obtain a high level of correctness regarding general (export) documents to achieve a smooth export and import process within VEG and YPL.
  • Promote a fluid and constant relationship between different departments and functions to foment positiveness and constructive approaches within our client.
  • To create efficiency and effectiveness in generating documents, making use of available and possible new applications and/or technologies.
  • To inform Seed Shipment Coordinators and stakeholders regarding import and export documents on the operational level to guarantee structural improvements to avoid future constraints.
  • To support expedition/shipping department with questions related to import and export documents
  • Manage the short-term flow of crops(s) towards seed cleaning, seed processing, testing, and distribution of R&D/Commercial/3rd Party seeds and finished goods in line with the order request.
Accountabilities
  • Responsible to coordinate and execute all sample requests.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations within the Seed Shipment Coordinators.
  • Responsible for information flow with reference to the requests and availability or problems for short-term deliveries.
  • Check request on completeness and challenge requestor if this is not in line.
  • Provide support to the internal and external requestor for all logistic affairs like monitoring information and orders and advice in case of constraints.
  • Execute orders in SAP with the right conditions and in line with the request.
  • Responsible for all documents required in line with International Trade Regulations.
  • Assist Seed Shipment Coordinators with difficult/complex matters with regard to export and import.
  • Arrange requests for Plant Health Inspections for shipments with plant material.
  • Coordination for inspectors to inspect incoming products.
  • Arrange for inspections for incoming shipments with the authorities for crops that need to be inspected.
  • Initiate request for Import Permits for Shipments.
  • Manage and deal with CLIENT/Ecert Export and related correspondence.
  • Manage and deal with Export document system.
  • Maintain overview file in Excel and team space for traceability.
  • Be responsible to indicate plant passports on required crops.
  • Management and coordination of Master Data from Received towards End Item level, including Test plans for a plant(s).
  • Manage the process of derogations and pro-rates.
  • To manage, execute and control the requests and take care of the sample orders of internal users (like breeders) and external users in such a way that deliveries are done as planned.
    • Communication with requestors and suppliers for seed deliveries and constraints.
    • Make a short-term plan for sample requests to be delivered after orders.
    • Take proactive actions and measurements to prevent shipment constraints to achieve optimal results within the quality requirements.
    • Execution of regional allocation plan, as decided by the Crop PBM.
    • Ask for catalogues of the different seed companies.
    • Coordinate and execute “non-seed” when orders are in SAP for Vegetables on requests of several departments within our client.
    • Control, act and be proactive within legal restrictions related to ARBO, HSE (health, security, welfare, and environment), and company policy in such a way that continuity and safety within the own department are assured.
    • Fulfil all required steps to meet the established KPI/PPI reporting process and initiate corrective actions.
    • Participate in multi-disciplined projects, meetings, and where necessary in all overlapping activities.
Experience and skills
  • Minimal 2 years’ experience in logistics.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • SAP and Microsoft Office Skills.
  • 3 years’ experience in (preferably agricultural-)international business and trade Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in planning & Logistic, Sales, or agriculture, preferably on HBO + level.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, e.g., exports documents.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Understanding of legal documents and the purposes.
  • Team player.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • High level of computer ability in general.
  • Proficient time management skills.
  • Quality-conscious and service minded.
  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to cope with complex export and import matter.
