Orion Group Life Sciences are currently recruiting a Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Engineer on behalf of our Multinational Biopharmaceutical Client based in Tipperary on an initial 11-month contract with potential to extend.

Functions:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and day to day operation of the site Maintenance system.
  • In conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, coordinate the Work Scheduling process to ensure site specific targets on maintenance backlog management are achieved.
  • Plan PM & CM work orders by visiting job sites, booking/ordering materials, writing task lists, performing risk assessments etc. working closely with contract providers to plan work requests.
  • Continue to develop the PPM (Planned and Predictive Maintenance) system including writing job plans and assigning maintenance frequencies.
  • Operation and execution of the Planning and Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Change Control System.
  • Support the equipment breakdown process in finding root cause and identifying correct CAPA’s.
  • Purchasing of spare parts and supporting inventory control.
  • Gate Keeping Role to review incoming work requests to ensure data accuracy, correct work type and to manage CM (Corrective Maintenance) Backlogs.
  • Plan, estimate, and assist in the coordination all aspects of maintenance and project activities associated with the Maintenance Shutdowns.
  • Support the development of the equipment annual review and support the team in the development of periodic OOT trend report.
  • Support the implementation maintenance best practice methodologies/technologies including the MPS, OPPS and 8 Step processes.
  • Liaise with Reliability Engineers on criticality assessments in developing new maintenance strategies/plans for new assets.
  • Contractor Management responsible for ensuring all GMP documentation in place prior to executing work.
What skills you will need:
To excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
  • Trade qualification and or a 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing GMP environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of CMMS systems is essential. SAP and ProCal, an advantage.
  • Experience of managing vendors and contractors.
  • Good understanding of World Class Maintenance practices and expectations.
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems and work practices for both electrical and mechanical crafts.
  • Knowledge of predictive and condition-monitoring maintenance techniques and their applications.
