Our Environmental Pledge

Orion Group is fully committed to sustainable development and continued improvement in carbon reduction, and we take full accountability for the environmental impact of our activities. We view effective carbon management as an integral part of our sustainable development goals and have committed to clear carbon reduction objectives and targets. 

Our established Carbon Management Plan outlines a vision for continuous improvement and integrates with our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, which is audited annually by the British Standards Institute (BSI). 

We are continually working towards a more sustainable future and successfully delivered carbon neutrality by 2023, with the longer-term target of achieving science-based Net Zero by 2045, five years ahead of the UK Government’s 2050 requirement.

Our Approach

Corporate Responsibility

As a long-established international company with a host of clients engaged in the energy transition, we are acutely aware of our responsibility to limit our own direct emissions. In turn, and as part of our on-going investment in carbon reducing behaviours, our HQ in Inverness is now supplied by renewable energies, with electricity from solar panels and heat from air source pumps. From an indirect perspective, we actively encourage the development of an environmentally responsible attitude with our employees, contractors, clients and suppliers.

Orion Group has earned the Bronze EcoVadis medal for Sustainability and received a commendation from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) for Sustainability Impact. The company also actively supports Treefo (a tree planting project delivered by Feefo) and various international Gold Standard offsetting initiatives, helping communities on the front lines of climate change to grow in a sustainable way.
