Orion Group, the UK’s leading provider to the energy and engineering industry, have agreed an exclusive link with Moray headquartered fabrication and manufacturing business Forsyth’s to supply labour to their recently acquired fabrication yard in Caithness and other projects.
The jobs boost for the region comes after Rothes based Forsyth’s stepped into acquire the Caithness Fabrication yard after previous owners Enterprise Engineering Service Limited (EESL) entered administration last month.
with their 140 year history have grown from a family run business supporting the whisky industry to supplying a number of the North Seas’ largest engineering projects.
It was back in the 1980’s with the slump in whisky production meant that work was scarce and Forsyth’s had to diversify into the Pharmaceutical/Paper & petrochemical industries. It was at this point that the company developed its experience in Pressure Vessels, Storage Tanks, pipework in carbon/stainless steels and other exotic metals.
A natural progression from this led the company into the oil and gas industry, where they are currently a leader in the design & fabrication of modules/skid packages.
Forsyth’s Operations Director Neil Grant commented, “We are excited to be working in the Caithness region and with a number of long term projects in the pipeline, Orion were the ideal company to assist in finding the right people to work for us as we establish our new yard in Caithness”.
Orion has been appointed to recruit a General Manager and Workshop Foreman, along with multiple positions in electrical project engineering, pipefitting, plating and coded welding (TIG and MIG).
