Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Wells Cost Controller, based in Westhill Aberdeenshire.

Responsibilities will include:
Assist and support engineers in the preparation of AFEs and AFE supplements in a timely manner in accordance with Company AFE process and understand the detail of the AFE with regards to the activities they cover, comment on overspends with Company AFE monthly exception report. This also incorporates maintenance of AFE register for Well Department.
Timely and accurate preparation of VOWD and costs forecasts, for OPEX/CAPEX and ABEX activities within Wells and Well Services. Monthly re-forecasts utilising PO commitment report, Oracle reconciliation, planning schedules and any other relevant information.
Work with all stakeholders to ensure appropriate reporting cut offs are maintained.
Update the Company forecasting tool with month end forecasts and detailed commentary in line with company finance reporting calendar.
Maintaining and delivering monthly Project Cost Reports for Project and Management in line with Project reporting deadlines including detailed monthly analysis.
Ensure that all procurement activity is correctly coded for cost tracking and monitoring and that appropriate budgets are in place for each, PO management and settled to the correct cost centre's. rectifying if and as applicable.
Raise, monitor and review purchase orders in line with the Company P2P processing ensuring POs are raised in accordance with AFE/WBS/CBS breakdown.
Review 3rd party invoices to ensure compliance with appropriate contract for all changes, challenging when required.
Control all financial activities related to Wells activity, liaising with other departments as appropriate.
Advised Well Management of financial and accounting issues and makes recommendations relating to budget and financial control.
Undertake analysis and investigation to ensure that the financial ledger reflects the current and accurate status of well costs incurred

Qualifications
Preferred
Engineering, Accounting or Business qualification - HND or higher
Completion of appropriate cost control industry training

Experience/Knowledge/Skills
Essential
Experience within the cost control/finance sections of the business
Significant experience in wells cost control

Preferred
Experience working on major capital projects, within an Oil & Gas operator and with a programme of projects.
Estimating experience
Experience working with primavera and planning function
Experience in using cost management software such as Oracle, MPower or equivalent
