Our client, one of the UK's largest online technology companies, is on the hunt for an experienced Web Analyst (Google Analytics) to join their Analytics team, based in Edinburgh. You will be working alongside data analysts and website engineers to help inform decision making at all levels of the business.

Our client has recently overhauled their Google Analytics setup to open up new insights. They now need someone to take ownership of the system and its future development, as well as support stakeholders in their data needs, uncover actionable insights and compelling data stories.

Day to day here's what you can expect;

Own the web analytics systems

  • Continually improve existing Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager implementations
  • Audit and troubleshoot issues with analytics and tags
  • Shape and enforce process and standards to preserve data integrity
  • Help integrate GA data with other data sources to get in-depth analysis of the end-to-end customer lifecycle

Provide reports and data insights

  • Develop reporting to meet evolving business needs
  • Get in-depth analysis of common onsite user journeys and drop-off points
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting for campaigns
  • Review and analyse A/B testing data to inform next steps

Manage stakeholders

  • Empower the business to self-serve their data analytics
  • Consult with stakeholders throughout the business to shape and implement measurement and experimentation solutions

Ideally, you will:

  • Significant experience in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Detailed understanding of GA and GTM implementations and tracking libraries
  • Proficiency with debugging tools such as Analytics Pros, dataLayer Inspector+, Google Analytics Debugger, Tag Assistant and WASP.inspector
  • Experience implementing A/B tests and analysing the results
  • Experience creating measurement and tracking strategies to meet business needs
  • Ability to choose and create clear and appropriate data visualisations and reports
  • Experience working directly with digital marketing teams
  • Confidence in communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Someone that thrives in a collaborative environment but embrace accountability
  • Someone that's curious and always open to learning from others
  • Self-motivation in the face of challenges

  • The full Google suite (GA360, Google Optimize, Data Studio, BigQuery etc.)
  • BI tools such as Looker, PowerBI, Tableau etc.
