Technical Editor - Job Description

Contractor is expected to assist with technical editing/writing work in accordance with COMPANYs governance and editing rules. Scope includes new documents, change of templates, formatting, editing, forms, graphics, tables, formula with many normative references. Work may also involve developing, automating, applying, and maintaining MS WordTM templates, custom styles and macros.

The contractor will serve as MS WordTM SME, resolving technical problems as needed. Contractor will interface with ETP team and SME category teams on agreed ETP format schedule and level of technical editing to ensure technical editing is performed efficiently in accordance to ETP editing standards. They will perform QC checks to ensure that documents edited or created reflect the most effective and concise terminology and meets COMPANY standards.

The contractor should have 5 plus years of experience in technical writing. Typically contractor is expected to edit approximately 40-50 documents per year with about 30 pages per document (average). The contractor will also identify process improvement opportunities in order to reduce number of recycles, optimise cycle time for publishing ETPs and reduce cost.
