Technical Writer II
Onsite in Carlsbad, CA
6+ month initial contract
Hourly Rate: $42-46/hr

This position will possess the experience and abilities necessary to create new and rewrite existing internal manufacturing documentation from the examination of subject systems, equipment, equipment manual and procedures, and / or interviews with subject matter experts (technicians and engineers).


Primary responsibilities include development and maintenance of technical documentation covering specifications, drawings, reports, and logistics data to organize into technically accurate documentation packages.
This position will coordinate the approval and production of documented work instructions with engineers, production, and quality personnel. Acts as a conduit between Product development/Engineering and Value Stream team subject matter experts.


Development and maintenance of manufacturing standard operating procedures and work instruction. Incorporate Standard Work for written instruction with corresponding visual management for ease of operator/technical use and process repeatability. Play a pivotal role in the transformation of manufacturing documentation overhaul to improve quality and ensure process repeatability. Active collaboration with Subject Matter Experts in Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality teams, ensuring cross site applicability of procedures where applicable.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Five years of experience in technical writing, Editing/Publishing
* Experience in a regulated environment
* Attention to detail. Good language and grammar skills.
* Knowledge of technical/engineering terms.
* Strong editing and proofreading skills.
* Strong knowledge of computer applications and technical writing software.
Education
* Technical degree or equivalent.
* Must be able to read, write and fluently communicate in English.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
