Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Technical Safety Engineering Team Leader, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities will include:
Provide direct supervision, coaching and guidance as necessary to a team of Technical Safety Engineers
Providing links between operational areas of the Company and the SHE department to ensure that specific Process Safety support needs of the organisation are identified and met
Act as a Technical Authority for Management
Conduct and review Operational Risk Assessments
Demonstrate ALARP for projects throughout lifecycle and challenge decisions where necessary
Technical safety overview of modifications projects etc. (e.g. review of project generated safety studies)
Co-ordination of and participation in technical safety risk assessment activities (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, etc.)
Co-ordination of activities undertaken by external Consultants
Development of in-house Technical Safety capabilities
Provision of technical safety and risk management support and advice to operational and project personnel

Experience
Essential
Thorough understanding of relevant statutory provisions, particularly in relation to Major Accident Hazard Management

Preferred
Experience of technical authoring desirable
Auditing skills

Qualifications
Essential
A relevant engineering degree or formal technical safety / risk management qualification - e.g. MSc in Safety & Reliability Engineering

Preferred
Chartered or working thorough Chartership via an Engineering Council professional body e.g. SaRS/SEE, IChemE, IMechE
