Looking for a Technical Authority (Static (M&I) in Aberdeen - reporting into the Global Manager Hydrocarbon Measurement, you will act as a technical authority and provision of support for local affiliate operations associated with Downstream Static Measurement business sector related issues, comprising tank, vessel calibrations, ATG (Automatic Tank Gauging systems). Not limited to locations such as refineries, tank storage, terminal loading systems etc.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for the provision of technical governance on downstream "Service Lines" to assist with increase business growth and to improve operational LC and ensure that objectives are met for business to benefit and local infrastructure.
  • Assist affiliate management with the technical support, training and competency planning and monitoring and alignment for success.
  • To assist and agree on measurement solutions for inclusion within proposals to provide 'fitness for purpose' to line management support for new & existing downstream measurement related services including but not limited to mobile calibration services etc.
  • Prepare regular reports including necessary metrics to ensure targets are maintained against technical compliance and service deliverables.
  • Provide oversight, to ensure necessary technical compliance is in-place regarding operational measurement services and business lines as is deemed necessary and required.
  • Ensure high profile and ensure consistent technical performance is improved on delivery of all groups static related measurement services and technologies.
  • Present regular progress technical reports on proposals/and or solutions being made to support for region to support growth and development.
  • Support and encourage management team in the implementation of consistently high standards of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management.

Ideal Experience for the job;

  • Extensive experience in relevant measurement service environment with technical or commercial exposure to relevant markets, demonstrated track record of service delivery and leading change.
  • The likely candidate should come from a background in either petrochemicals, hydrocarbon refinery, pipelines, storage terminal management and/or fuel storage or distribution.
  • Technically qualified in relevant process instrumentation, mechanical & control systems skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate Technical competency in Tank Strapping, Optical Reference Line Method, Triangulation, Electronic theodolite, 3D laser calibration methods all in accordance with API/ISO standards.
  • Demonstrate technical competency in calibration of tanks, spheres, Ship/Vessels, Road Tankers, Gantry meters, ATGs/level gauges etc.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in measurement instrumentation, control or process related Petroleum Engineering, or relevant Sciences.
  • Further industry specific technical / commercial training is desirable.
  • Chartered/Incorporated engineer and /or engineering council registration.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading teams and effectively managing implementation of new profitable business.
