The Role

The Software Solutions Manager manages a team of Software Developers and Analysts and is responsible for:

  • analysing software needs across the business
  • project managing software development
  • implementation initiatives
  • Managing and prioritising developer resources for the Case Management and Software development pipelines
  • Working closely with the rest of the IT Team to maintain, manage and support the firm's software estate, in particular database administration and maintenance
  • Analysing and identify new software and versions of existing systems that may be of use to the Firm

Key Skills and Experience

  • You will be confident managing a team of IT specialists, collaborating with non-technical colleagues, and managing programmes of diverse projects. Most of all you will be able to understand business challenges and translate them into solutions, and to explain technical concepts in plain English
  • You will have solid technical experience of software and systems
  • Sound understanding of development and project management methodologies
  • Project Management experience and skills; associated qualifications if possible. If you have experience of using project management tools such as Jira that would be very helpful, particularly for Agile development
  • You have the ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions
  • You enjoy software analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience within the legal or professional services sector is essential
