Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Software Engineer based in Aberdeen

Key Responsibilities:
Work independently and as part of the Repair & Field Services team to develop, maintain and support various software projects.
Advise on software issues and upgrades.
Be the Repair & Field Services expert on software issues for troubleshooting and assistance to customers and client technicians.
Assist the Lead Controls Engineer and manufacturing in Aberdeen with the development, improvement and testing of new and existing products.
Follow, review and create work instructions and procedures for software and support related activities.
Provide training and support to Field Service Technicians globally.
Maintain a working knowledge of industry related codes and standards.
Perform other assignments as directed by leadership.
Maintain product and Company reputation by complying with government regulations.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Assist with the testing of manufactured products.
Accountable for the timely delivery of software, including upgrades and bug fixes.
Accountable for the timely response and support to customers and field technicians.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors or Associate Degree or relevant experience (Essential)
Lean Knowledge (Desirable)
Expert knowledge of software development, including C#, Visual Basic, .NET Framework, WPF, MySQL Server and Microsoft SQL Server. (Essential)
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming. (Essential)
Ability to review, debug and optimise existing software projects. (Essential)
Strong understanding of networking and communications. (Essential)
Proficient understanding of software versioning tools. (Essential)
Demonstrable working knowledge and understanding of PLC Controls equipment including Allen Bradley and Siemens. (Desirable)
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications and have an understanding of engineering terminologies. (Desirable)
An understanding of hydraulic systems and schematics (Desirable)
An understanding of torque equipment. (Desirable)
Knowledge of health, safety and environment compliance requirements. (Essential)
Advanced knowledge of engineering standards including codes and regulations affecting design development. (Desirable)
Advanced understanding of all phases of field operating and equipment with particular attention to the individuals' field of expertise. (Desirable)
