Orion Group are looking for a Software Developer for our multinational medical devices client based in the Limerick area on an initial 6-month contract with the potential to extend.

Main Responsibilities of the role

  • Contributes to design of web-based and Oracle applications
  • Reviews, analyses, develops, and modifies computer applications in GxP validated environment
  • Analyses and resolves problems associated with applications
  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation and knowledge transfer
  • Typically reports to a Project Manager or Technical Lead
  • Systems & applications design including detailed specifications
  • Coding of application from specifications
  • Testing, debugging and documentation
  • Maintenance of programs
  • Use of formal development tools and techniques
  • Contact with designers to clarify specifications
  • Design and develop moderately complex data conversions and interfaces

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

  • At least five years of experience working as a professional software developer
  • Third-level degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010/2012/2015
  • 3 - 5 years of experience with C#, VB.Net and ASP.Net
  • 3 - 5 years of experience with Oracle / Sql Server
  • Oracle PLSql or Sql Server Stored Procedures plus database design
  • Development experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git
  • Proficient with GUI design standards
  • MVC experience a bonus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, flowcharting tools for development of Software Lifecycle
  • Accepts personal responsibility for client satisfaction

  • Works independently and/or within team to accomplish job objectives
