Our Client

Our client, one of the country's biggest and most prestigious legal firms are currently seeking an experienced Software Developer based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh

This role will work closely with both the IT Team and the Senior Systems Developer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development testing and maintenance of applications and IT systems
  • Provide support, fixes and upgrades to existing systems
  • Focus on providing development of an intranet environment, and development support to enhance DMS, PMS and Visual Files
  • Design, build and implement new applications
  • Research, design, document and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle
  • Assist with maintaining the integrity of the SQL server environment

Skills, Experience & Qualities

The ideal candidate for this role will be a graduate with a 2:1 or above in a relevant technical discipline and have a minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in a relevant technical role. You will be innovative, analytical with excellent communications skills and a strong attention to detail.

Key skills required include:

  • Database Development experience with either MS-SQL or MySQL (Or equivalent)
  • Experience of Stored Procedures, advanced query design
  • Data Warehousing technologies and reporting solutions
  • Microsoft SSRS (Reporting Services)
  • DTC Package design
  • Must have 2-4 years' solid experience in an enterprise environment including these technologies;
    • WCF Services
    • WinForms
    • Windows Services
    • Design patterns
  • Must have 2+ years' solid experience in an enterprise environment
  • Technologies to include;
    • MVC
    • WebForms
    • HTML
  • Developing in .NET with VB or C# (VB preferred but not essential)
  • Experience working with ASP.NET and good knowledge of web technologies
