Skilled Fitter

Location - Renfrew

Contract - 3 months fixed term contract with possible extension

Pay rate of £14.55 per hour + holiday pay and overtime at £19.40 per hour & £24.25 per hour

Experienced and skilled Fitter required for a contract role based in our client's Service Centre.

Main purpose of job

  • Assembly components within company product range
  • To work within a multi-disciplined team, producing quality products to time scales as directed.
  • Strip down and repair a variety of rotating equipment for a variety of products.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Recognised Engineering apprenticeship
  • Experience of working with hand tools
  • Experience of grinding, drilling and tapping
  • Experience of working with bearings and induction heaters
  • Engineering drawing interpretation ability
  • Previous experience of precision manufacturing & assembly
  • Good communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Lean Manufacturing Skills
  • Lifting & Slinging certification
  • Forklift cert
  • Working at Height cert

Accountabilities

  • Work to Engineering drawings
  • Assemble components to required quality and technical standards.
  • Strip down and repair of a variety of rotating equipment products.
  • Adhere to relevant instructions contained within WSI's on the assembly of components to ensure that each is built to specific standards.
  • Conform to all aspects of HUK's Quality Management System including the fulfilment of all relevant procedures, to ensure conformance to international standards.
  • Deliver quality components in a timely manner whilst contributing to efficient and effective manufacturing principles to ensure compliance with cost predictions.
  • Provide training support for Apprentices and work colleagues to improve shop floor skills.
  • Interact & respond to all aspects of continuous improvement activities supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery and quality improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards in compliance with Company policy to ensure safe working environment.
