Site Foreman - utilities

We are recruiting for one of the nation's largest commercial companies who provide an extensive range of construction services including construction management, general contracting, design & build and preconstruction.

The role:

  • To work as directed by the Project Manager while ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe and effective manner and to the highest standard of quality and safety assisting the project manager at all times.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Detailed planning and management of any works within a given area, delivering high productivity in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure high productivity and efficiency through effective control and utilisation of the contract work force and its resources, operating within the appropriate Safety Management system
  • Ensure that the programme of works considers resource requirement and deliveries are achieved.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation.
  • Ensure that all operational staff have the appropriate competencies to undertake works allocate to them.
  • Assess and understand the technical contents and scope of works issued by the Alliance.
  • Ensure that all accidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss incidents are reported as per the company procedures.

Skills Required:

  • Proven technical knowledge and experience within civil engineering, or associated transferrable skills
  • A basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel
  • Proven man management experience
  • Proven Knowledge of construction Health and Safety
  • Proven ability/knowledge of Programme Management

knowledge / qualifications / experience:

  • Previous experience in the utility industry - Desirable
  • Previous experience in civil engineering projects - Essential
  • Holder of a valid N.R.S.W.A. qualification (Supervisor) - Desirable
  • CSCS Managers (Gold Card)
  • Valid U.K Clean Driving Licence
  • Main laying, waste water drainage experience - Desirable
  • Confined space trained- Desirable
  • specifics; civil engineering type projects, reinforced concrete tanks above/below ground any experience of the construction/refurbishment of water treatment works deep drainage etc.
