Shift Mechanical Fitter

Permanent

Commencing on day shift going on to day and back shifts later, potential for overtime.

Location - Grangemouth

Shift Mechanical Fitter required to carry out scheduled planned maintenance work on this COMAH site in compliance with company procedures.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical equipment in compliance with company procedures.
  • Dismantling and reassembly of pumps (Centrifugal & Positive Displacement).
  • Removal and reinstallation of mechanical seals and alignment of rotating equipment, general process and conveying equipment (agitators, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyors, specialised equipment i.e. hydraulic bailing presses, expanders, expellers).
  • Carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible on above equipment.
  • Assembly and dis assembly of site pipework (utility and chemical process).
  • Undertake general workshop fitting skills including occasional machining, burning and welding and lifting operations.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings of various parts to ensure correct tolerance and fits are maintained for efficient plant operation.
  • Operate in compliance with all HSE regulations and company norms.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of chemical processes, rotating machinery, hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Microsoft PC application
  • Indentured apprenticeship (mechanical based), or modern equivalent.
