Job description

Our client is looking for a SHEQ Advisor to support production operations in the Southern North Sea. The successful candidate will be required to travel offshore.

Key ObJectives

  • Ensure that all QHSE work undertaken for the company complies with QHSE legislation, company Policies and objectives
  • Assist the Head of QHSE in advising all company employees on all aspects of QHSE.
  • Assist in maintaining, enhancing and implementing the company QHSE and Business Management Systems.
  • Assist in ensuring the company complies with parent company management systems requirements

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring that Management Systems are fully documented and kept up-to-date, and provide advice to others on implementing systems and procedures.
  • Assist in conducting internal / external audits, technical / QHSE reviews, management reviews.
  • Maintain the Business Management System (BMS) accredited to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and future updates/amendments as required.
  • Assist in incident investigation, reporting and closeout of supporting recommendations.
  • Monitoring ongoing QHSE activities for production operations.
  • Assist in occupational health and safety for staff, including risk assessments, QHSE training, Office Inductions etc.

Safety Critical Responsibilities and specific QHSE Responsibilities

  • Preparation and on-going maintenance of Safety Cases, Combined Operations Notifications and verification schemes for company facilities.
  • Close involvement in all day-to-day operational QHSE issues.
  • Participate in Operational Risk Assessments, HAZIDs and HIRAs.

Education / Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant Engineering or Science discipline is desirable.
  • Experience and previous training in Emergency Response procedures would be preferable

Knowledge of

  • Developing and maintaining health, safety and environmental management systems;
  • Health & safety activities, legislation and guidance required for the offshore oil & gas industry.
  • Safety and environmental management principles and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Environmental activities, legislation and guidance for the offshore oil & gas industry

  • Results orientated, conscientious with a strong work ethic
  • Solutions focused with the ability to implement improvements and efficiencies where appropriate
  • Capable of working under own supervision and being self-motivated.
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written).
  • Flexible attitude and desire to learn
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
