Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Surveyor, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Provide geotechnical assessments and advice based on the geotechnical data acquired by the company in the UKCS. Review of SSA documents for jack-up rigs and subsea foundation assessments for subsea structures.
* Plan and supervise acquisition of survey and positioning workscopes in compliance with legislative & regulatory requirements, the company's Group Specifications, Company Rules, Policies and Procedures, and industry recommended best practices.
* Assist the Lead Surveyor with the provision of survey and positioning services throughout the company, including but not limited to:
* Rig move positioning - Generate scopes of work, HAZID, HIRA, execute, report & close out.
* Ensuring the capture, assessment of accuracy and completeness of positioning data that is acquired during all subsea team operations prior to passing it to data management team.
* Support to DSV and CSV operations by subsea team - Review associated scopes of work, report & close out.
* Support to AUV / ROTV Subsea pipelines acoustic inspection - - Review associated scopes of work, report & close out.
* Dimensional control surveys - Generate scopes of work, HAZID, HIRA, execute work, report & close out.
* GPS Continuous monitoring installations and ongoing monitoring and reporting.
* Develop the display of point cloud data for real-time use during subsea IRM and decommissioning operations
* Provide support to the Projects and Engineering Department for the acquisition of point cloud data in air and combine with subsea data when requested.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Significant experience technical in an offshore industry (O&G or Wind). Preferably with time spent in both offshore and onshore roles.
* Qualified to degree level in geomatics or geotechnical engineering.
* Knowledge of geotechnical assessments for subsea foundations (jack-up rigs and structures)
* Experience of rig moves, subsea construction projects, acoustic measurement, laser scanning, point cloud processing.
* Offshore experience at a supervisor level, preferably as offshore manager.
* Familiarity with survey and geotechnical regulatory requirements, joint-industry best practice requirements and latest technology.
* Knowledge of GIS and application of mapping technology to enhance exploration and development activities.
* Enthusiastic contributor with an eye for detail who is prepared to challenge status quo.
* Effective communicator both written and verbal
* Effective relationship-builder at all levels, internally and externally
* Familiarity with survey and geotechnical regulatory requirements, joint-industry best practice requirements and latest technology.
