Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Software Developer, based in Slough, Berkshire

Responsibilities will include:
Design, code in C and OpenROAD 4GL implement complex units/modules/products that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget
Develop plans outlining steps and time tables for developing programs and communicate plans and status to management and other engineering team members
Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections
Perform unit/module/integration testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications
Fix bugs, add enhancements, and convert software to other platforms
Participate in design and code reviews with other developers
Assist Quality Assurance Team by providing assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems
Review and approve software testing plans for quality assurance
Provide input to establish and improve departmental processes and procedures
Provide product content to Technical Writers
Mentor, train, develop and serve as knowledge resource for less experienced Software Engineers
Business travel of approximately 5 or less percent yearly is expected for this position
Manage project team activities for specific assignment

Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Extension experience in software engineering field
Advanced design/debugging/ skills
Highly analytical thought processes with the ability to solve complex problems
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team and make independent decisions regarding workload prioritizing to achieve deadlines, both independently and for the group
Strong C coding skills. Windows API skills are a preferred
Proficient in OpenROAD 4gl coding (training would be available for the right candidate)
SQL skills. Familiarity with Ingres, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle preferred
Java skills (preferred)
Javascript/html skills (preferred)
