Our EPC client are looking for a Senior Project Manager to be based at a Naval Base in Scotland on a 24 month contract.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • PSP Nuclear principal point of contact for a specific project within the Clyde Continuous Availability Programme (CAP)
  • Accountable for the safety and welfare of the project team
  • Accountable for delivery and performance of the project
  • Accountable for compliance with the relevant security arrangements for the project
  • Accountable for the production and provision of mobilisation plans for the project
  • Accountable for production and implementation of effective stakeholder engagement and communication strategies
  • Responsible for ensuring that the project understands and accountable for ensuring that the project meets the requirements of the DIO SPOC and DIO Prog Dev including all Scrutiny requirements
  • Provides leadership on critical programmes of work including representing the project at key meetings
  • Responsible for leading focus on providing value for money solutions
  • Provides leadership in solution identification
  • Accountable for the delivery of the project. Project Lead for the development of procurement strategies for high risk, high value packages
  • Responsible for ensuring that Performance Review meetings are held for the project and managing the project input to the review
  • Accountable for ensuring development and delivery of project procurement strategies for high risk, high value packages
  • Accountable for ensuring appropriate succession planning and skills capability / capacity maintenance arrangements are in place on the project
  • Accountable for ensuring application of robust processes to demonstrate SEQP resources deployed on the project
  • Responsible for reviewing all project-related Demand Orders and liaising with Programme Manager and Discipline Managers to ensure right resourcing, and cost and schedule estimates

Must Have

  • Security clearance to SC
  • Good communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence others including building and maintaining effective relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Degree qualified or relevant experience.
  • Experience of modern project management techniques within complex, multifunctional organisations. (Membership of APM is desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of processes involved in planning and strategy; organisation and governance; personnel and professional matters
  • UK National (dual or foreign nationals not acceptable)

Desirable

  • DV cleared
  • An engineering degree (civil / mechanical / marine, in particular).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Knowledge of the full project life cycle stage-gate principles of project delivery. The Company system will be explained after engagement.
  • Knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation, information concerning specific company safety, quality and security procedures shall be provided in-post.
  • Experience of working on complex nuclear infrastructure projects
  • Experience of defence (infrastructure) projects
  • Project management competence is desirable from one of the following routes:
  • Qualification such as APMP, PMP or Prince2.
  • Membership of a relevant Professional body where PM Competence is a criteria for qualification.

  • Full time at site so need to be located / on assignment in the Glasgow / Clyde area.
