Job description

Our Client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planner to join thier team in Qatar on a staff basis.

As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in our Doha office, contributing to the success of various projects across study, FEED, EPC, and PMC scopes of work. We are looking for individuals with expertise in both onshore and offshore Oil and Gas projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and report accurate project schedules and plans to ensure effective project control throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Develop project schedules and plans in compliance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Identify areas of best practice and drive continuous improvement within the Planning team.
  • Support the management and development of the Planning team, including the preparation and filing of project planning documentation.
  • Act as the focal point for several project scopes, either independently or as part of a team.
  • Review and maintain planning control structures aligned with the approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Monitor and control planning activities across all project phases.
  • Liaise with various project functions, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to stay informed about project activities, status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.
  • Provide project plans, schedules, progress reports, and updates as per project reporting requirements.
  • Assess the schedule impact of change notifications and monitor overall project progress and milestone achievements.
  • Collaborate with the cost discipline to ensure accurate control and forecasting of man-hour budgets, incorporating change requests into the schedules.
  • Participate in schedule risk analysis and lead Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews.
  • Play an active role in mentoring and career development of Planning personnel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical or business discipline.
  • Relevant scheduling/planning experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software, as well as related tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling.
  • In-depth understanding of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling, WBS & CBS structures, and project reporting capabilities.
  • Strong ability to develop project schedules and plans, and prepare resource loading, progress, and staffing plans.
  • Excellent grasp of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses/trending, and what-if scenarios.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
  • Previous experience in a senior planning role.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to guide, mentor, and supervise others effectively.
  • Availability to work in Doha, Qatar from June/July 2023.
  • Willingness to represent the Company in both onshore and offshore surveys, with relevant certifications or willingness to undergo suitable training.
