Our client, a leading engineering services business is seeking to appoint a Senior Mechanical/Piping Designer for a new project role.

The Senior Designer is responsible for supporting and guiding a team of discipline specific Designers and assuring the quality of output is to the required standards. The role requires a good understanding of engineering and design practices as relevant to the individuals discipline and the holder must be able to demonstrate appropriate CAD competencies as well as good written and verbal communications.

This individual will be able to demonstrable success within the Oil and Gas or Marine Industries. A thorough understanding of UKCS regulatory requirements will be advantageous, and the candidate must be fully capable of providing specialist designer support within a multidisciplinary engineering team. This individual will be responsible for the quality of their deliverables and will participate within the company's safety, quality and design governance processes.

Significant experience in one or more of the following design areas will be essential

  • Steam Systems and boilers
  • Hydraulics(valve control) system
  • Cargo handling systems and offloading reels
  • Flare tower
  • FW/DO loading reels
  • Hawser and Mooring winches

Qualifications

Engineering or Science degree qualification in relevant discipline, with significant demonstrable experience or HND qualified with significant demonstrable engineering experience and capability
