Orion Group Sciences have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our client based in Cork. This is a permanent role.

Main Responsibilities of the role

  • Support management in improving efficiency in all areas of manufacturing
  • Provide insight into improved processes for the manufacture of products and development of new products
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior Engineers/Technicians in their assigned roles
  • Lead engineering projects & related personnel in the optimization/design of products/processes
  • Full responsibility for product/process design on processes & equipment
  • Provide proven engineering expertise to overall Manufacturing Engineering efforts
  • Experience in developing and validating equipment onsite
  • Perform detailed analysis of problems and define & execute plans to implement change
  • Troubleshoot operations to identify root causes of production problems
  • Responsible for execution & tracking of projects from a technical/financial perspective
  • May direct the efforts of other Engineering staff
  • Occupational Demand Requirements: Position may require some moderate manual labour
  • Performs manufacturing deviation investigations and root cause analysis within the agreed investigation timelines.

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

  • Minimum B.Sc. in Engineering. Other qualifications desired
  • Proven problem solving & analytical skills in regulated manufacturing
  • Minimum: 4 years working at Engineer level within a regulated environment
  • Industries such as Medical Device, Pharmaceutical & Aerospace will be considered
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and competence on all Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to determine, influence and action appropriate corrective and/or preventive action
  • Report writing expertise
  • Excellent communication skills and highly developed people skills
  • Knowledge of statistical methods a distinct advantage.
