Senior Legal Counsel

Currently seeking a Senior Legal Adviser for a 12 month contract. Based in Central London with a global energy company, therefore international experience would be highly preferred.

Ideally suited for someone with a strong understanding of Oil and Gas Contracting, with exposure to development and supply chain activities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Creating and negotiating key development contracts
  • Liaising with external teams
  • Establish compliance with joint venture arrangements
  • Liaising with Governments
  • Support and advise internal stakeholders
  • Provide practical and commercially orientated advice regarding legal arrangements
  • Support the business unit's development
  • Build productive relationship with Business Unit suppliers
  • Work with and lead negotiation teams

Requirements

  • Legal assistance relating to complex projects
  • Creating high quality legal documentation
  • Assist in overseeing external legal costs
  • Strong understanding of Oil and Gas contracting
  • Exceptional legal experience from an Oil and Gas or international law firm
  • M&A and Project Finance experience is desirable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree level education
  • Hold a current legal practising certificate from a relevant jurisdiction
  • Membership of professional and industry bodies
