Senior IT Developer

Permanent (salary to £39,000 per annum + benefits)

Location - Rosyth, Fife

The Senior Developer is part of the Applications Solutions Department within a large, diverse international business and reports to the Business Applications Manager


The postholders main purpose is to develop technical solutions as part of the development team to support the implementation of standardised system processes throughout the organisation.

Applicants should have a selection of following skills, qualifications and experience:

* Oracle PL/SQL
* Oracle APEX
* Qlikview
* Team foundation server
* Crystal reports 11 and or Crystal Server

Essential:
* Documentation and Communication skills
* Systematic approach to problem solving

Advantageous

* Visual Studio 2015
* SQL server 2912
* Net version 4
* ERP (IFS) system support skills
* SharePoint 2013, InfoPath, SharePoint Designer

Qualifications:

* Suitable business qualifications or Qualified by experience.

The Senior Developer is responsible for:

  • Reviews the solution technical design liaising with the systems analysts and customer to ensure solution is delivered in line with business requirements
  • Delivery of Technical solution in line with business requirements
  • Contributes to evaluating the factors which must be addressed in the solution development
  • Translates logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance requirements and existing systems
  • Produces detailed designs and documents all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate
  • Develops and maintains specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modelling techniques and design principles and a detailed knowledge of database architectures, software and facilities
  • Evaluates potential solutions, demonstrating, installing and commissioning selected products
  • Designs, codes, tests, corrects large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools
  • Takes part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' technical work
  • Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly
  • Provides advice on the transformation of information from one format/medium to another
  • Maintaining technical awareness at a level where alternatives can be analysed and modelled according to technical feasibility
  • Ensuring that the solutions has been verified and accepted, by liaising with other Application Solution Team representatives, prior to deployment into Live environments
  • Utilising technical experience and skills to assess and advise on the practicability of solutions, marrying up technical limitations with operational realities
  • Applying available standards, methods and tools in an intelligent and effective way
  • The ownership of the delivery of minor works to time, budget and quality targets and in accordance with IT?IM standards
