Our Client

Our client is a global giant within the professional services sector and is a constant innovator of change and continual improvement. With offices all across the UK this role will be based remotely but with expected office travel to mainly their Edinburgh and London sites. Due to the retirement of a longstanding HR professional an exciting opportunity has arisen to join an impressive team in a proper HR Business Partner role.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of HR Business Partnering, the main responsibility of the Senior HR Business Partner will be partnering one of the businesses major functions to deliver, set and implement the HR /Talent agenda as well as the People plan and to continuously support on strategic projects e.g. Talent/ Organisational Design, HRIS implementation and Change Management. With responsibility of a headcount of 700/800 employees you will engage with senior stakeholders across multiple sites to ensure the business is continuously improving.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead HR Business Partnering responsibility for assigned UK Practice Group populations
  • Bring commercial and pragmatic HR expertise to discussions with key stakeholders
  • To lead on the approach to and coordination of cyclical HR activity within your PG such as performance reviews and annual reward cycle.
  • Lead on HR projects for the whole firm, diagnosing needs and developing solutions e.g approach to talent identification and management, employee engagement, change management.
  • Provide trusted one to one guidance to stakeholders on HR matters.
  • Provide general advice on HR policies and managing complex Employee Relations issues; coaching HR colleagues and stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Work with colleagues to drive innovation and continuous improvement across the HR function ensuring knowledge is captured across the firm.
  • Be an active member of the HR Business Partnering leadership team
  • Work closely with colleagues in HR Business Partnering team and provide cover for their client groups during holidays and as required.
  • Lead small team of HR Advisors through setting clear objectives

Key Skills & Experience Required

The ideal candidate for this role will be a commercially astute HR professional with the gravitas and experience to lead others whilst also having a demonstrable track record of delivering major HR strategic projects. You will be comfortable talking with senior stakeholders about the business as a whole and not just HR as well as ideally having experience in the following areas;

  • Strong HR and business acumen
  • Proven track record of driving forward an HR agenda in line with business strategy
  • Technical depth in a specialist HR discipline such as Leadership and Talent, Organisational Development or Employee Experience would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to analyse key people metrics and use data to influence business leaders' decisions
  • Demonstrable ability to coach and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience of implementing a cloud based HRIS would be advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to build relationships at all levels based on trust, respect and delivery.
  • Collaborative and proactive in seeking opportunities to work with colleagues to co-create solutions that meet needs of multiple client groups.

You will be a natural leader with a consultative and pragmatic style with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders across all levels up to a senior/board level.
