With recently announced acquisitions, our client has now become the holding company responsible for overseeing and managing all US Renewables investments in the country. The entity operates in a very competitive and dynamic industry/environment with a significant number of dedicated SPV's.
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst plays a critical role in supporting this growth and must be able comfortably interact with all levels of professionals in the US affiliates, at head-office and with investment partners to ultimately ensure the integrity of our financial reporting in both US GAAP and IFRS
Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is a key player in ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting processes for all activities within scope. The role is accountable for ensuring they remain up to date on standards and pronouncements, and for delivering the continued compliance with the relevant accounting standards and industry norms.
Provide accounting, reporting and analysis with respect to a number of Distributed Generation Portfolios, including maintaining and improving the accounting and reporting systems, manage and oversee the transactional accounting performed by the DG Shared Service Finance team in the Philippines with respect to these Portfolios
Research, document, and apply US GAAP and IFRS Accounting Principles related to US operations.
Develop the tools to streamline and manage the IFRS to US GAAP conversions and vice versa (where relevant). Analysis will be primarily related to revenue recognition, sale-lease back transactions, business combinations/purchase accounting, consolidations, tax equity accounting, asset retirement obligations, derivatives accounting, lease accounting and common control transactions.
Ensure REN Accounting Manual for US operations remains up to date and aligned with reporting standards and Company guidance
Oversee month-end close and accounting processes related to all aspects entities within scope.
Review financial statements and systematically review all journal entries and account reconciliations on a monthly basis
Review financial statements of non-operated JV's, and liaise with partners as necessary to understand asset performance and feedback to management accordingly
Prepare US GAAP Financial Statements for all entities as required for investor reporting and tax purposes
Coordinate the completion of financial statement audits for for all legal entities/ projects in both US GAAP and IFRS
Act as a liaison amongst internal functions and outsourced Accounting Service Providers and External Stakeholders
Bachelor's degree and a Certified Public Accountant with Big 4 public accounting experience
7+ years of demonstrated finance and accounting experience
Renewable industry experience
Experience with financial statement preparation and consolidations of multi-tiered legal structures (JV's, LLCs, tax equity partnerships)
Strong (written and oral) communication and interpersonal skills necessary to collaborate across internal functions (i.e. Accounting, Legal, Project Finance, etc.) and also with external tax service providers
Knowledgeable of US GAAP and IFRS; able to research, document, and apply relevant accounting standards
Superb attention to detail and ability to deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Comfortable with working autonomously, initiating the necessary discussions across functions
Experience in influencing without formal authority, and in mentoring and training others
Team oriented and willing to challenge the status quo
