Orion Group are recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst on behalf of one of our Multinational Medical Device Clients based in the Berkshire area on an initial 6 month contract.

Dimensions

* One of 7 Analysts in the Finance Team.
* Total Department based in UK approximately 22 heads.
* Work with Managed Service business leaders and partners.
* Work with finance partners within the Finance Corporation based in the UK, Germany and United States of America.
* Work closely with UK Tax COE, GFS, PWC (Audit/Vat) and key stakeholders for adhoc projects.
* No direct reports (although potential to manage temporary resource)

Main Responsibilities



* Provide finance support and business partnering for the Managed Service business.
* Monthly close responsibilities include sales calculation and reporting (including true up for customers), profit & loss preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, capital expenditure analysis and customer KPI's.
* Responsible for timely financial forecasts and submissions
* Finance lead for new customer onboarding.
* Finance lead for future system and process enhancements
* Proactively contribute to maintaining and improving a strong internal control environment e.g. understanding SOPs and updating as necessary, identifying risks and proposing potential solutions.
* To support the UK Country Tax Centre with the preparation of UK Statutory Accounts and LR Exhibits (Managed Service specific activities)
* To assist with the annual PWC external audit and internal audit (currently every three to five years).
* Involvement in/driving standardisation, process improvement & sharing best practice.
* Promote & support financial awareness and education for business partners.
* Proactively take responsibility for personal development.
* Contribute to or lead projects both in finance and across functions.
* Compliance with Records Retention rules and HCC/HCBI/IAPP requirements.
* Ad hoc tasks & analysis as required.

* Reports to Finance Director.
* No Direct Reports (potential to manage temporary resource)

Knowledge / Experience / Skills required

* Qualified with professional Accountancy body (e.g. CIMA, ACCA) with min 4 years post qualified experience.
* 5 years relevant experience working with a finance department.
* A strong understanding of cash flows and project analysis tools.
* Strong interpersonal & communication skills, with an ability to influence people at all levels.
* Attention to detail.
* Highly motivated and proactive.
* Experience of SAP/ Ariba / Atticus.
* Advanced spreadsheet skills.
* Ability to contribute and work effectively as part of a team, taking the lead where necessary.
* Methodical approach with a commitment to accuracy & timeliness of analysis.
* Strong continuous improvement mind set.

Assignment and Planning of Work



* There will be extra demands around the month end and quarterly close and reporting deadlines.
* An ability to adjust to changing timetables and short lead times is frequently required.
* Considerable planning, management and involvement is required for each year end close.
* Sarbanes-Oxley requirements / audit timings will dictate work patterns.
* As an integral member of UK finance team there is a requirement to be involved in projects and the implementation of new initiatives.
