Senior Finance Analyst

We are currently working with our Client to recruit a Senior Finance Analyst to work on a temporary contract until the end of March 2021 for the business unit providing advisory and assurance services to the senior management of regional teams, local systems and the provider sector.

The team's objective is to help ensure that the business has strong providers working effectively together and with other partners in the best interests of their local populations and staff. The team comprises of Provider Transformation and Provider Policy teams who together:

  • Provide independent review, for example assuring and approving the highest risk and most complex mergers
  • Support complex organisational change in client's providers, for example putting in place joint management agreements to allow for the sharing of board members across multiple trusts, developing strategic options for unsustainable providers or designing new organisational forms
  • Develop the future provider landscape to support the implementation of the business's Long Term Plan, for example policy development for small rural acute hospitals, and to support greater collaboration between providers

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivery of the financial review element of key pieces of work as part of multidisciplinary project teams, working in a matrix structure.
  • Developing and delivering appropriately robust and evidenced-based evaluation and conclusions/ recommendations.
  • Senior Finance Analysts may be expected to work on ad-hoc projects which contribute to the products and services available to support providers and systems.
  • Exercising sound judgement on complex issues related to finance in business providers and

Skills/experience:

  • Accounting qualifications
  • Previous experience of working in a professional, client facing role in strategy, governance, mergers and acquisitions, transaction services or similar would be advantageous
  • Strong evaluation capabilities (with prior experience of tailored reviews of financial forecasts) and the experience to question assumptions.
  • Ability to review large amounts of complex information quickly and effectively and see what, if any, additional information is required in order to undertake meaningful evaluation.
  • Ability able to summarise work in insightful reports suitable for sharing with board level management without requiring significant editing.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and complex issues
