Senior Environmental Engineer

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking to recruit a well-qualified and experienced Senior Environmental Consultant (with 7+ years of relevant experience) to join our dynamic team. Our team works on exciting oil and gas development projects offering advice on environmental and social performance including regulations, pollution prevention and lender financing. Candidates have the opportunity to join our team and to work with our growing client base in the UK and overseas. We are looking to recruit into our London office which aims at servicing our global clients and regional offices. The role may require business travel depending on project requirements.

Accountabilities

Working with high profile clients including oil and gas operators, banks and / or our parents. Your role will involve leading environmental technical and regulatory advisory to ensure adequate environmental consideration is given in the early concept development and schemes selection, provide regulatory know-how to operators entering "new entry" regions, assess environmental impacts, advise on pollution prevention measures in design and using modelling to demonstrate mitigation. You will also be required to collaborate with more senior members of the team to support business development initiatives and to secure new and develop existing client relationships.

The role will initially focus on writing proposals and reports, preparing calculations, analysis of environmental and social impacts, and supporting client interactions in line with client and regulatory requirements

Qualification & Training

Essential

  • Strong academic background in a relevant discipline (e.g. MSc. in Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering with Environmental Management, Civil Engineering with Environmental Management or Chemical Engineering) from a top tier University.
  • Demonstrable track record working in and for O&G industry within an EPC Contractor, Consultancy or Operator organisation.
  • Discernible experience across the project life cycle including concept, FEED and EPC stage as a Lead Environmental Engineer
  • Confident verbal and written communicator with experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • You will be self-motivated, organised and thorough and be able to demonstrate application of initiative to lead the delivery of projects to high standards.
  • You will have an analytical mind and have examples of your ability to problem solve and write technical reports.
  • Writing of articles, make presentations, represent io oil & gas consulting in client meetings.

Desirable

  • Demonstrable track record in business development.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Environmental modelling experience (air dispersion and noise modelling)
  • ESIA subcontractor management
  • Presentation development skills
  • Experience as an ENVID chairman and / or trained lead environmental auditor
  • Has Membership of a relevant engineering, science or environmental institute.
